Most home bakers start on Facebook and Instagram. That works until people start asking the same questions all day and orders get lost in messages. A simple website answers the questions for you and takes the orders while you bake.
Your Own Website, And $29 A Month Includes Me
Other apps give you a tool and a help page, and you are on your own. With KeyHUD:
- Change anything yourself, any time — or never touch it. Your choice.
- Rather not? Send me the change — a new item, a new price, a photo, sold out this week, holiday hours, or a whole new look — and I do it for you, usually within a day or two.
- As many changes as you want. Rebuild it ten times if you like. That is what the $29 is for.
- I watch your shop and fix problems myself, usually before you notice.
- Want your own .com? Your shop starts at keyhud.com/your-shop, and you can move it to your own name, like yourbakery.com, any time. Just ask and I set it up.
Not sure if it fits what you sell? Just ask. A real person answers. — Jay, Nebraska
What A Bakery Website Needs
- A menu with prices. The number one question you get is “how much?” Put it on the page.
- Real photos of your bakes. Your phone is fine. Natural light, plain background.
- Ordering. Customers pick items, pick a day and send the order, instead of messaging you.
- Pickup or delivery days, with a limit so you never take more than you can bake.
- A way to reach you and a short “about me,” so people know a real baker is behind it.
Mistakes That Cost Home Bakers Orders
- No prices. People leave instead of asking.
- “Message me to order.” Every message is a chance to lose the order.
- A pretty site with no ordering. It looks nice, but you still take orders by text.
- A link nobody can find. Put it in your Facebook and Instagram bio and on a sign at your stand.
What A Bakery Website Usually Costs
Build it yourself on Wix, Squarespace or Square: a monthly plan, plus hours setting up products, pickup days and payments. Hire a web designer: usually $300 to $1,000 to build, then you run it alone. Order apps like Hotplate: free to start, but they add a fee to each order your customers place.
We build your bakery website for you: $20
Send a photo of your menu. Your site is ready this week, with your menu, prices, photos, pickup days and ordering. You only pay once you like it, then $29 a month after your first free month. No contract.
